Caroni Employees 4th Release 22 Y.O. 1998 Full Proof – Dayanand “Yunkoo” Baloon

Employees is the latest series of blends composed of a part of the last 140 barrels remaining from the original stock of the Caroni Distillery, found by Luca Gargano on that legendary 9 December 2004. It is a series born with the idea of ​​celebrating some of the employees of Caroni , 14 to be exact, reunited thanks to the collaboration of Rudy Moore, liquidator of the bankruptcy of the Trinidad distillery, with whom Luca came into contact immediately after the discovery. All releases bear the name, nickname and photo of each of the Caroni Employees on the label, taken by Fredy Marcarini, the photographer who created the images found on almost all the editions of Caroni selected by Luca Gargano. Fredy was with Luca on the day the barrels were found and returned to Trinidad after 12 years to immortalize all the employees, to whom the 14 blends will be dedicated. The XXXX barrels that make up this edition were selected on 3 and 4 April 2019, on the occasion of the Caroni Ceremony, when 24 of the greatest Caroni enthusiasts in the world gathered in Cognac, together with Luca, for a unique event: when the last 140 barrels left of the Caroni stock found in 2004 were imported to Europe, where aging was stopped. Of the 140 barrels, 60 were chosen by 8 “tasting gangs” to create blends of a few barrels, which liquids were placed in stainless steel vats to stop aging definitively, waiting to be bottled in the Employees series.
